The staff are so well informed about the drinks. 86 has the best whiskey selection in Eugene. This is a fun experience with friends or a date night. The snacks are great too, I highly recommend the truffle fries.

Great experience, yummy drinks, loved the ambiance, fun place! Bartender was knowledgable. Highly recommend!

Great choice for any occasion as we experienced superb service and high quality cocktails. We were seated at the bar and enjoyed chatting with the other guests while soaking in the ambiance and sipping from gorgeous glassware. The Brie dip was delicious but the calamari next to us looked phenomenal.

After hearing so much about this place, we decided to check it out. It's a fun concept to reserve online, wait for your password to arrive the day of reservation and then find the door marked Janitor in the lobby of the Gordon Hotel. Flip the switch at the door, and a little cutout in the door will be openen and you provide the password, and you are IN.... Fun! The speakeasy is small with about 10 bar stools and 10 tables. We were seated at the bar which was perfect since we just came in for a drink. Nice prohibition era cocktail choices like Manhattan, Sazerac, Aviator etc. The bartender was very nice and friendly and mixed an awesome cocktail! Gorgeous glassware and a beautiful decor makes for a fun time, despite the cocktail being on the small-ish side and pricey. I am glad we did not come for dinner since the food choices are limited to appetizers only. It is worth checking them out if you have never been!

This is an intimate space and their reservation process ensures everyone has a wonderful experience. Friendly staff that offer quality cocktails at reasonable price. Tip: show up a bit early to scope out the location and have a drink or dinner at the hotel lobby restaurant/bar.

Loved loved this speakeasy. So cute and private. Reservations needed and highly recommended you need a code to get it. Loved it. I loved the service. We didn't try any food but the drinks were amazing. I tried their French 75, and I loved them.

If I could give 4.5 stars, I would. It was fun to have to provide a password to get in. The décor reflects the period of a speakeasy - low lights, dark colors, small space and lovely glassware. We sat at the bar and were served very elegant and delicious cocktails by a very friendly bar person. S/he/They were attentive to our needs and offered complete explanations about the various cocktail ingredients as well as other recommendations on particular liquors and why they were chosen for certain cocktails. FYI - This is not a place to get a dinner, the menu is appetizers. The only criticisms I have for 86 Speakeasy are simple: 1. They did not inform us that our visit with them was limited to 1.5 hours. when we wanted to order an additional appetizer, that was when we were told we would not have enough time. When letting them know we had no idea about this, I was told it was stated on the website. I rechecked and could not find that info. 2. One appetizer we ordered clearly stated it was accompanied by grilled vegetables, which was what attracted me to order it. When it came, the vegetables were raw and included cucumbers. (I would probably never grill cucumbers!) When I checked with the barperson, I was told that this item always came with the raw ones and after doublechecking the menu, s/he/they agreed about the description. So, I was disappointed. Nonetheless, we had fun!

We had a ton of fun dressing the era and going for a drink. The bartenders were amazing and fun, excellent service. Delicious prohibition specific drinks. The food was so yummy too. Not loud or too dark. Tips: Must make reservation!

This place is super fun, and the cocktails are really delicious and creative. You make a reservation online and get a text with the password and then there's a whole little ritual where you go the "Janitor's Closet". The bartender was friendly and sassy. The hostesses were friendly and attentive. We got some tasty calamari with our drinks and enjoyed ourselves and the atmosphere. I got a vodka cocktail, and a second one that was a variation on a Negroni. There are no non-alcoholic options unless you request them (but they did make one for my spouse, who doesn't drink, who said it was okay.)
